Bence Bánkövi comes from a family of musicians and has been playing the cello for 15 years. His secondary school was the Béla Bartók Conservatory, studying under Rezső Pertorini and Ágnes Kállay. In 2016 Bence got accepted to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and his current teacher is Csaba Onczay. During his studies, Bence has participated in several master courses, among which the most prominent were with Mikós Perényi, István Várdai, Marcio Carnero, and Steven Isserlis. As a soloist, Bence has worked with many orchestras, including the National Philharmonic of Hungary, the Radio Philharmonic, the MÁV Symphony Orchestra, and the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra and with conductors such as Tamás Vásáry and János Kovács. Bence has won second prize at the David Popper International Cello Competition and the fourth prize at the 3rd International Krzysztof Penderecki Cello Competition.
