Che-Wei Kuo (born in 1996 in Miaoli, Taiwan) received his first cello lesson at the age of eight with Mei-Hui Chang at the Qingshui Music School in Taiwan. Since 2016 he has been a student at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main and is taught by Bonian Tian. The cellist has already participated very successfully in the Taiwan Music Competition. Both in 2010 and 2012, Che-Wei Kuo won a 1st Prize and 2nd Prize in the Cello Solo category in the middle school and high school group of the Confederate Music Competition in Taiwan. Che-Wei Kuo gathered chamber music experience in a fixed clarinet trio with the pianist Eri Sakaguchi and the clarinetist Koichiro Une. In 2016 Che-Wei Kuo and the pianist Shenzi Liang the founded the Klang-Duo. They are currently studying with prof. Angelika Merkle in Frankfurt am Main and have already participated in the Polytechnische Gesellschaft, Kammermusikpreis with great success and played numerous concerts in Germany. The artist has attended masterclasses with artists and professors such as Troels Svane, Josef Schwab, Nobert Anger, Claudio Bohórquez, Emil Rovner, Isang Enders, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Reiner Ginzel, Jan Ickert, Ben Hong, Jonathan Aner, Laura Fernández, and Angelika Merkle, they all gave him additional artistic impulses. In 2018, Che-Wei Kuo was supported with the scholarship of the STIBET III program and the scholarship provided by the EKHN-Foundation.
