Since 2018, she has studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts under professors Natsumi Tamai, Dong-Suk Kang, Tsugio Tokunaga and Seiji Kageyama. She was awarded Doseikai Prize at the Tokyo University of the Arts when she was graduating in 2022. Currently she is studying master's at the University of Music Karlsruhe under prof. Josef Rissin as a DAAD scholarship holder, and is also studying chamber music with professors Momo Kodama, László Fenyő, Christian Ostertag, Roberto Domingos, Mikayel Hakhnazaryan and Andrej Jussow. Since 2024, she has been a member of the Trio Gottesaue, who are scholarship holders of Live Music Now 2024. Sakura Nakagawa has won a variety of prizes for her violin and piano performance at numerous competitions, including the 2nd prize at the 71th Japan Student Music Competition in Osaka, 2nd prize (top place then) at the 27th Japan Classical Music Competition. In 2018, she performed at the 32th Kyoto Art Festival and received Audience Award and The Mainichi Newspaper’s Prize. In 2021, she was awarded by the Heiwado Foundation with the Art Encouragement Award in music category. In 2022, she performed at the Shiga Prefecture Shin-Jin Concert and was awarded the grand prix. In 2024, she won 2nd prize and Bärenreiter Praha Music Publisher Prize at the 59th Beethoven International Competition in Hradec, performed Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and also with the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany.
