Maya Alexandra Kasprzak was born in Hanover, and began playing violin at the age of four. From 2017 to 2022, she was a junior student of prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg at the Berlin University of the Arts and currently studies with prof. Tobias Feldmann at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. She have received additional artistic inspiration from renowned musicians such as prof. Zakhar Bron, prof. Mihaela Martin, prof. Barnabás Kelemen, Clara-Jumi Kang, Dimitry Sitkovetsky and Kristóf Baráti. Maya is a prize-winner of numerous national and international competitions, for example, she received multiple awards at the Jugend musiziert, the International Tibor Varga Competition (2021), and the Carl Flesch Competition (2023). She also won 3rd prize at the Bartók World Competition and is a scholarship holder of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. Maya has performed with esteemed violinists like Daniel Hope and Zakhar Bron, and collaborated with conductors such as Łukasz Borowicz and János Kovács. Her performances have taken her to prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus Berlin. Since February 2020, Maya has been playing on the Joseph Gagliano violin from 1790, generously provided by the German Musical Instrument Fund of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben in Hamburg.
