Kokoro Imagawa began playing the violin at the age of four. She entered and graduated the Moscow State Conservatory as top student, and is currently in her first years for a soloist's diploma at the Swiss Italian Conservatory. She was a scholarship holder of the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists which has been run by Japanese Government’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (2019). She won the Encouragement Award of the Kyoto Arts Festival, the Kirishima International Music Festival Award and the Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi Award, named after music director of the festival. She also won 1st prize in numerous international competitions, including the Marine Iashvili International Violin Competition in Sakartvelo, and the Competition "Violino International" in Russia. She achieved 3rd prize at the Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition, and has received special prizes in various other competitions, including the Johannes Brahms International Competition, the Rodolfo Lipizer International Violin Competition, and the Leopold Auer International Violin Competition. As a soloist, she has collaborated with numerous conductors, including Valery Gergiev who then lead the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, Francesco Angelico, Sergej Krylov, Ilya Derbilov, Vladimir Lande, and many others. Her performances have been broadcasted via various television channels, along with the interviews. Since 2024, she has been teaching at the Soai School and University, where she is also a mentor of the Soai Junior Orchestra.
