The mezzo-soprano Eglė Šidlauskaitė was born in Kaunas, where she obtained a BA degree in academic singing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. Afterwards, she continued her studies in Italy, at Milan's G. Verdi Conservatory. Since 2015, she has been a member of the SIAA Foundation, Lichtenstein. In 2016, she created the role of Eboli at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. She won the "Opera Soloist of the Year" award for this, and in 2017 she was awarded the prestigious "Golden Cross of the Stage" theatre award. Eglė recently won the International Antonina Campi Singing Competition, and has already won the International Capriolo Franciacorta and the G. Cobelli international singing competitions. Moreover, she was awarded the special prize at the "Competizione dell‘ Opera 2011", and in 2013 she reached the final round in the "BBC Cardiff Singer of the World". In 2010, she toured Germany, Austria and France, where she sang Azucena in G. Verdi's opera "Il trovatore". Eglė has worked with the conductors Julius Geniušas, Jonas Janulevičius, Robertas Šervenikas, Martynas Staškus, Patrik Ringborg, Maurizio Arena, David Crescenzi, Asher Fisch, Guillermo Garcia Calvo, Pierre Vallet, Sesto Quatrini, Richard Bonynge and Zubin Mehta. Her repertoire includes the parts of Romeo ("I Capuleti e i Montecchi"), Eboli ("Don Carlos"), Carmen ("Carmen"), Fenena ("Nabucco"), Composer ("Ariadne auf Naxos"), Azucena ("Il trovatore"), Sonyetka ("Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District"), The Third Lady ("Die Zauberflöte"), Boy and Flowermaiden ("Parsifal"), Aida (TJO Project "A.I.D.A"), Olga ("Eugene Onegin") and The Mother ("Hänsel und Gretel").
