Yanis Grisó was born in Luxembourg, and began studying the violin at the age of four. Until 2018, he studied with Sandrine Cantoreggi at the Conservatory of the City of Luxembourg, where he finalized his violin studies with the highest distinction and obtaining the prix supérieur. Since 2018, Yanis has been studying with Boris Belkin at the Maastricht Academy of Music in the Netherlands. Yanis is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions – he received prizes at the Luxembourgish Competition for Young Soloists, European Competition for Young Soloists in Luxembourg, X Balys Dvarionas Competition for Young Violinists in Lithuania, International Grumiaux Competition for Young Violinists in Belgium (3rd prize), and at the Concours Triomphe de l’art in Belgium (2nd prize). In 2022, Yanis was awarded the Luxembourgish Prix Mameranus. As a soloist, Yanis performed with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, and the Estro Armonico Orchestra. Since 2023, Yanis has been a member of the Solistes Européens Luxembourg (SEL). Yanis took part at several masterclasses in Luxembourg, Germany and Italy, where he received precious musical advice from Mihaela Martin, Larissa Kolos, Vadim Gluzman, and Boris Belkin. Yanis currently performs on Andrea Guarneri, which is generously loaned to him by The Violin Collection.
