Lithuanian pianist Monika Dars and Polish cellist Kacper Nowak met in 2018 in Denmark during the Thy Chamber Music Festival. Since then, the musicians have not only played duo concerts in Belgium, but also founded the successful Urban Piano Quartet, with whom they won the Supernova and Nordic Strings competitions, made it to the finals of the Schoenfeld Harbin (July 2022) and recorded a critically acclaimed CD. Members of the ensemble have studied at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, Hochschule für Musik (Cologne and Hannover), the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Antwerp. The musicians have performed for European, Canadian, American and Russian audiences, and have played solo with orchestras in Belgium, Austria, Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania. They have also successfully performed at prestigious festivals such as Encuentro de Santander (Spain), Aurora (Sweden), Apeldoorn (Holland), Harmos (Portugal), Klara, Midis-Minimes, Bozar (Belgium) and many others. The performers are laureates of international competitions and have collaborated with M. Rostropovich, Cartier, Fundacja Rozwoju Kultury, J. Darche and other foundations. Their recordings have been played on radio and television in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Lithuania and Poland.
