Byeol (Claire) Kim began playing the violin at age five after receiving the instrument as a gift from Santa Claus. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in violin performance at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University under Cho-Liang Lin, after earned her Bachelor of Music at the New England Conservatory (NEC) under the guidance of Ayano Ninomiya. She has received numerous accolades, including 1st prize at the 2024 Hong Kong International Competition, 2nd prize at the NEC Concerto Competition, and 2nd prize at the France Music Competition. As a soloist, she has performed with prominent orchestras, including the Cheongju Philharmonic, and has appeared at renowned venues such as the Carnegie Hall. Her chamber music experience includes performances at the NEC Chamber Showcase, and collaborations with the Borromeo String Quartet at their Beethoven's String Quartets' seminar. She has also worked with distinguished musicians, such as Brannon Cho, Jinjoo Cho and the Verona Quartet. Kim has participated in prestigious festivals and masterclasses, including the Kronberg Academy Masterclasses and ENCORE Chamber Music Festival as a fellow, further honing her artistry as both a soloist and a collaborative musician.
