Haewon Lim began playing the violin at the age of three. She attended the Center for Gifted Students, studied under prof. Namyun Kim, later – at the Yewon School. Since 2018, she has been a junior student at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin, and since 2021, she became a bachelor student, working with prof. Antje Weithaas and prof. Ning Feng. She drew attention by winning 1st prize at the International Louis Spohr Competition in Weimar and at the Berlin Grunewald Competition, 2nd prize at the International Violin Competition Kloster Schöntal in 2017. Haewon Lim also performed at the Kumho Prodigy Concert Series. She has already won multiple international and South Korean national music competitions, including the Korean Chamber Orchestra Competition and the Euroasia Young International Competition, the Ewha-Kyunghyang Music Competition, and the Dong-A Music Competition. Haewon Lim has performed with numerous orchestras, including the DITTO Chamber Orchestra, the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra at the Suwon Hwaseong International Music Festival, and the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra. Haewon Lim has attended numerous masterclasses with esteemed musicians, such as Min Kim, Koichiro Harada, Regis Pasquier, Christoph Benjin, Joel Smirnoff, Joan Kwon, Soovin Kim, Catherine Cho, Hyukjoo Kwun, Mengla Huang, Roland Daugar, Soyoung Yoon, and Friederike Starkloff. Additionally, she has participated at the Ishikawa Music Academy, the Great Mountains Music Festival, and the Busan International Music Festival.
