		    Tetsutaro Nakatani started playing violin at the age of 3. In 2023, at the age of 14, he won 1st prize at the All-Japan Student Music Competition. In 2022, he won 3rd prize at the same competition, and at the same time a special prize established by the Suntory Arts Foundation – he was lent a Gennaro Gagliano from 1774. At the age of 7 he won 1st prize in a soloist audition held in Yokohama, and performed with an orchestra for the first time. In addition, he won 1st prize and other awards in many competitions held in Japan. As a soloist, he have performed with the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo University of the Arts Philharmonic Orchestra, among the others. He also actively performs at concerts for children and for the general public. This summer, he attended IMUSE masterclasses in Belgium, where he learned a lot from the guidance of prof. Philippe Graffin. He is currently studying with prof. Natsumi Tamai at the Music High School of the Tokyo University of the Arts.
