Amelia Elson is a promising spinto soprano living and performing in Germany. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland in the United States and began studying music in her youth. Her training in music continued at Towson University, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree with a major in Vocal Performance. While at Towson University, she discovered her affinity and potential for the operatic stage. Ms. Elson continued her studies at Manhattan School of Music in New York City, where she went on to earn a Master of Music degree in Classical Voice Performance. She performed several complete roles and many opera scenes while studying with the world class faculty at the prestigious conservatory, including the role of Donna Anna in Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and Gretel in Humperdinck's masterpiece, "Hänsel und Gretel". In the wake of her studies at Manhattan School of Music, she was encouraged to expand her training abroad. Ms. Elson became a familiar face on the stages of Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, where she reprised her role of Donna Anna and expanded her repertoire with productions of "Le nozze di Figaro" as Susanna and "Die Zauberflöte" as Pamina. She makes her home now in Erfurt, Germany and continues her vocal and repertoire development with notable musicians from some of Germany's most highly regarded opera houses.
