The baritone Robson Bueno Tavares was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In 2009, he won Brazil's Maria Callas Vocal Competition. He is a recipient of the Giesinger Kulturpreis 2016 (Munich). He was awarded for the contemporary opera "Short Lived", which was written specially for him by Tom Smith. The teachers, conductors and directors he has worked with include Raina Kabaivanska, Alberto Zedda, William Matteuzzi, Robert Holl, Evgeny Nesterenko, Alessandro Sangiorgi and Abel Rocha. He has sung in Guaira, Malibran, Olimpico, San Carlo, La Nuova Fenice theatres, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Hall, Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, Gerard Bechar Center, and Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
