Oliver Hak is a 14-year-old Polish-Chinese pianist who has emerged as a multi-award international prize winner with his recent successes including: 1st Prize at the 25th International Piano Competition of Ile-de-France in Paris (Excellence category), 1st Prize in the 2023 Junior Intercollegiate Piano Competition by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe (BPSE) in London; 1st Prize and the Moray Prize at the 5th Scottish International Youth Piano Competition; Two-time winner of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) Junior Concerto Competition; RCS Junior Conservatoire Beethoven Piano Prize; the Hugh S Roberton Memorial Trophy and Glasgow Orpheus Choir Trust Award in Glasgow Music Festival. A student of the RCS Junior Conservatoire since 2018, Oliver started piano lessons with Dr Marianna Abrahamyan at the age of 8 and later the double bass as his second instrument under the tutelage of Tom Berry. Oliver made his piano recital debut at age 12 and has been performing across the UK and France. In the same year, he made his piano concerto debut with the RCS Junior Symphony Orchestra and later with the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland (NYOS) performing in the Aberdeen Music Hall and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Oliver was also featured in the International Piano Magazine last September.
