Oskars Kalniņš is a creative and versatile young musician, who is capable to play the organs, piano, cello and who is composing all by himself. He graduated from the Riga Cathedral Choir School and from the Jāzeps Mediņš’ School of Music in Riga, where he studied in cello class, in 2021. He is currently studying at the Music High School of Jurmala in the organ class and in the cello class at The Emīls Dārziņš Secondary Music School, where he is also studying composition.

He entered in the XXIII International Academic Music Competition Jurmala 2022 in organ category and was an active participant of the masterclasses Ventspils Organ Days, which were organised in the same year. In 2022, he also took part in the composition category of the national competition, which is orientated towards music history and theory students, which is a part of the educational program for the Latvian professional secondary music education institutions. In 2018, he participated in the strings category of the national competition held for the students of the Latvian professional orientation and professional secondary music education institutions. He participated in the X International Karl Davidov Cello Competition (2018), in the V International Saulius Sondeckis Competition for Young Violinists, Cellists and Pianists (2017), in the International Contest of Young Pianists, Violinists and Cellists Young Musician (2017), in the International Kārlis Ferninanda Amenda Competition for Individual Performers and Ensembles of String Instruments (2015) and in the III International Competition of Young Musicians Kaunas Sonorum (2015).
