Yue Zhang (b. 1991) completed his Bachelor and Master degrees with distinction at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Gabriel Kwok. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Montreal under concert pianist Dang Thai Son. As a soloist, the pianist has played in many famous concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Sala Cecilia Meireles (Rio de Janeiro), Salle Bourgie and Salle Claude-Champagne (Montreal), many others. As soloist, Yue has collaborated with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Academy Symphony Orchestra, Xiamen Symphony Orchestra and Hong Kong Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra. The pianist has won first Prize at HKGNA music competition Young Artists Division and Silver prize (General Category) at the XIV International Piano Competition in Tokyo. Y. Zhang is the awardee of scholarships from Government of Hong Kong and "Yamaha".
