Born in Paris, in 2004, Arthur Coatalen began to play the piano at the age of seven with Hungarian professors. He was then taught by prof. Mireille Phillips at the Schola Cantorum, and by prof. Romain Descharmes at the Paris Regional Conservatory. He is currently a bachelor student at the Paris National Conservatory (CNSMDP) in prof. Hortense Cartier-Bresson’s class. Being French and Hungarian, he took masterclasses in both countries and has profited from the advice of, among others, Jacques Rouvier, Haruko Ueda, Sébastien Vichard, Fabien Waksman, Gabor Eckhardt and Stanislav Ioudenitch. He has won prizes at several competitions in France (Île de France, Chatou, Lagny, Steinway), in the Czech Republic (Broumov Key), Italy (Pietro Argento), Spain (Ibiza) and in Belgium (César Franck). He has performed at the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Norwegian Circle, the Atelier des Lumières, the Kawai Showroom in Paris, at the Óbudai Társaskör Hall in Budapest, the Potager des Princes in Chantilly, and the Festival "Nancyphonies" in Nancy. He has been elected as member of the Young Talents Association for the season of 2023-24, and participated at the Santander Music Summit and Academy in the summer of 2023. An active chamber musician, he has played with violist Miguel da Silva and flautist Philippe Pierlot, among the others.
