Xin Shi is a graduate student who has studied under Professor Du Jing from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Dr. Jakob Fichert from the University of York. At the age of 14, she successfully held her first solo piano recital, performing all 12 of Chopin's Études Op. 10 in the first half and collaborating with the Sichuan Conservatory Symphony Orchestra on Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 in G minor in the second half. During her time at the Conservatory, Xin was received numerous accolades, including the First Prize of the Yangtze River Piano Scholarship and the First Prize of the Yamaha Piano Scholarship. In 2024, she was selected for the joint master’s degree program between the Sichuan Conservatory and the University of York and earned a government scholarship to pursue her second master’s degree in the UK. Xin has an impressive record of achievements. In 2017, she won Third Prize in the Third Lanzhou International Piano Competition. In 2021, she won First Prize in the 10th Steinway National Youth Piano Competition and Second Prize in the Piano Category of the Sichuan Selection for the 13th China Golden Bell Awards for Music. In 2023, she earned the Grand Prize and First Place in the Shanghai International Youth Piano Competition.
